Are you prepared to take care of yourself and your loved ones if a disaster strikes? Are you certain you know how to prepare yourself financially for a natural disaster? If we've learned anything over the past year and a half it's that the entire world can be turned upside down in an instant and that we all need to be prepared for a worst case scenario at any time.
That might sound a bit hyperbolic, but no one in the world was able to predict what has transpired as a result of COVID-19. With that in mind, here's The Elevation Group CEO and investment expert Brian Fouts with some advice on how to financially prepare yourself for a natural disaster:
Hey, everybody, Brian Fouts with The Elevation Group and I want to ask you a very simple question. If something catastrophic happens in the world, whether it's a natural disaster, earthquake, things like that, an attack, a World War, something that shuts down the power grid, something that significantly impacts your life, can you take care of your family if you have to move or escape or have to go somewhere quickly?
Can you take care of your family? Are you safe now? This is survival, right? And in the past 18 months around the world, we've seen a lot of crazy things happen. And this is becoming more and more prevalent with people because they're thinking about this kind of stuff.
Can I take care of my family? Can I protect my own life and those around me? Because if you're looking to build wealth, right, that also involves having a wealthy life because you can protect that life, yours and those around you. And so one way you can do this is to have a very simple thing called a bug out bag or go bag. And this is mine right here. I'll show you mine. This is one of the two that we have. We have one for my wife and I and one for our kids. And this bag essentially allows us to survive for up to five days at a time. Food, clothing, shelter, all that stuff is right there. So I can grab that at a moment's notice. Hop in the van or the car with my family, my kids. And we can go.
But I know that I can take care of myself. I can protect them and myself as well at the same time. Now you might be thinking, well, that's probably not going to happen. And if so, I'll just stay home. But you never know what's going to happen. And having this for myself is a huge peace of mind. It provides me with that comfort that if something does happen, I know that I can take care of them. And I know people that have used these.
By the way, now I have some friends that live in areas that are prone to hurricanes and they have to evacuate sometimes very fast. But guess what's not available? Services. Often times when they're trying to run, they're escaping right on the escape routes. There's not a lot of services available or that everything's sold out. There's no water, there's no food, whatever it is. And so I know people that have used these more than once, many times they've used these things to make sure their family has clean water and food and protection as their journey to where they have to go to get away from that disaster because we never know what's going to happen.
And so do you want to have that peace of mind? Because I love having that for myself and my family and I want it for you as well. So we have some videos here at The Elevation Group that show you how to actually prepare one of these bags or how to get one, as well as other survival strategies. Join us here and we'll actually teach you how to prepare yourself financially for a natural disaster. We'll give you some videos of some lessons that we have done about these kinds of things and how to have some survival things in place to protect yourself and your family.
