The Elevation Group is a 4-year-old company, born and bred in Austin, and enjoying rapid growth. We deliver financial education to our members in a web-based, video-centered learning environment. In fact, we're empowering the middle class to change their life by gaining knowledge of little-known investing strategies, and practical know-how for becoming an entrepreneur.

The company has an exceptional leadership team, and has already built a profitable business that delivers ever-changing content to our subscribers. We are now growing our products and staff in new directions ... And we want a few more amazing people to join our team and our mission, as we continue making a real difference in people's lives. Our amazing, brand-new office space has just been completed to meet our specific needs. It includes an on-site video studio for our ongoing video productions, a coffee/juice/wine bar in the kitchen, highly ergonomic “standing desks” for every single employee, and two enormous fish tanks (just for fun). But even though we love working in our new office, we also enjoy the ability to work remotely, whenever it makes sense.

The Job

Please consider this unique opportunity to fill an immediate opening for a full-time Web Developer – a Builder who is ready to have a meaningful impact on the success of a business, every single day. In this role, you are the one we'll be counting on – not a small cog in a big machine.

Our high-growth-mode environment is very fast-paced and ever-changing. It's the perfect challenge for someone who likes creating new offerings and maintaining order in the old, by using the latest technology tools combined with business sense, good judgment, attention to detail, and a desire to learn something new every day. Our Marketing and Ops teams are extremely inventive and spontaneous and we are adding a dedicated “Tech Guy/Gal” to allow the team to perform quickly, and at its creative best.

We offer a casual, family-like atmosphere where professional behavior is nonetheless demanded. To examine each candidate as a potential fit for our team, and the job, we assess his or her “instinctual behavior” preferences with a quick test – the Kolbe A Index (learn more at kolbe.com ). In addition, we start with a short ‘probationary' period so each of us can assess the fit before a permanent commitment.

Our front-end Web Developer will be a key member of our Team by:

  • Working alongside the VP of Marketing to generate sales
  • Designing (some) and Developing/Configuring (all) of our customer-facing pages, emails, e-commerce transaction forms, and other functionalities
  • Implementing off-the-shelf Marketing systems with our unique branding & tracking needs
  • Maintaining our website, hosted web servers and outsourced email service
  • Integrating various systems through the use of the APIs of systems we utilize

  • Optimizing reporting for our needs, from the various off-the-shelf systems we depend on
  • Working with our COO to configure/implement/customize back-end systems operations and procedures
  • Helping to select new systems/ add-ins
  • Setting up new systems and new tools within systems – while learning all about the tools
  • Helping out with Tech (video) needs in the on-site video studio

  • Performing analysis and giving advice in systems selections
  • Backing up others on the team, as-needed
  • Performing other suitable duties as time permits

If you’re easily overwhelmed by lots to know or do, or don’t like the feeling when a plan changes mid-stream, this is not going to be a fit for you. But, if you like doing something different every day, and being an impact player on a real team, let’s talk.



  • A minimum of 3-6 years’ experience developing, as your profession, for the web
  • BS in computer science or equivalent formal training (no hobbyists)
  • Proficient in HTML5 and CSS, JavaScript and jQuery, PHP
  • Understand the value of, and techniques for implementing, analytics (tracking codes)
  • Mindset for delivering excellent UI/UX (Excellent design talent is a bonus but implementation skill is a MUST)

  • Like Building (not managing, not directing, BUILDING stuff that works)
  • A bit of a “Jack of all trades” in the coding world
  • Experience with eCommerce - ideally with off-the-shelf systems for implementing it, like Infusionsoft
  • Heavy experience with analytics/pixel tracking/marketing automation platforms
  • Some experience with email platforms

  • Some experience with implementing another vendor’s API
  • Some experience with video creation, embedded playback and streaming technologies
  • Care about quality – instinctively demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness and leaving behind code and configs that others can understand later
  • But knows when shortcuts are the right choice to work quickly and Deliver
  • Comfortable taking instructions verbally or in writing, and asking for clarification

  • Professional and mature; trustworthy with confidential information
  • Extremely detail-oriented, and proud of it
  • Dependable – ‘dropping the ball’ or missing a deadline is not an option for you
  • Able to work on your own, with little direction, but not a ‘lone wolf’ who can’t be part of a team
  • Able to understand a business’ needs and thus prioritize competing requests

  • You learn fast and don’t need anyone pushing you to make you get stuff done.
  • Resourceful and tenacious: have a "yes, we can" mindset... and if you don't know how... be willing to find or make a way to achieve the goal
  • Communicate well – in-person, on the phone, and in email
  • Willing to quantify your instinctual behaviors with a quick test – the Kolbe A Index (we’ll pay for it if we’d like to proceed after initial discussions with you)
